The Skypad team had a fantastic 3 days in the Nevada dessert at this year’s HD Expo. The exhibition was hosted at the Mandalay Bay Convention Centre, Las Vegas, boasting 275,000 square feet of show floor space and 850 exhibitors. Together around 10,000 designers, architects, hotel owners and operators, developers, specifiers and purchasers along with 800 plus hospitality design manufacturers and product providers explored the latest trends in the hospitality industry.

These were the strongest trends at the HD Expo this year:

Textiles With Pattern— Carpet and area rugs that are visually fluid with irregular patterns breaking away from grid systems has become quite the textile trend.

Outdoor Elements— Are becoming increasingly popular for hospitality interiors, whether its a “green wall”, or plant based installation.

Warmer Metals— The applications of warmer toned metals being applied to case-goods & seating has developed into a major trend. With many items being specified in a variety of darker bronze and rose gold tones.

Green— Pantone named it colour of the year but there is much more to it than that. “Green”, or eco-friendly, continues to be a major trend in the industry as guests look to companies that practice sustainability.

Tactical Luxury— Comfort continues to grow as an expectation. Furniture will not only have to look luxurious but also feel it as well.
